Climate Change Depression
I’m openly sharing my personal experience of depression caused by climate change. I hope to let those who can relate know they are not alone.
Welcome to ‘Lelo-Lelo’ blog,
created by yours truly, Maayan.
I’m an amateur cook, pastry chef, animator, and an illustrator.
A few years ago, I discovered that I had Gluten sensitivity and dairy allergy.
In recent years I embraced a vegan lifestyle.
Therefore, I decided to create a blog that is all-
Healthy, Vegan & gluten-free recipes.
Welcome
to my green corner,
where thoughts take flight,
Doubts, fears, and struggles shine bright.
Together we’ll fight the climate’s plight and fright,
I’d love it if you’ll join me now; so we’ll make it right!
I’m openly sharing my personal experience of depression caused by climate change. I hope to let those who can relate know they are not alone.
בית » Waste-Free » Poetry- A Mother’s Cry
While studying at Bezalel, I embarked on a writing course where I unearthed a unique avenue for self-expression and delivering meaningful messages through poetry.
Inspired by my first post, Climate Change Depression.
A quote from the post:
“Something I wished to repress, to forget, but there is nowhere to run, the world beset. Danger lurks in every corner and place. The climate has gone mad, a frantic chase.
Amid fires raging in Israel’s embrace, accusations flew a blame game’s chase. “It’s arson!” echoed in every news space, but hidden truth yearned for its rightful place.
An unspoken plea from “Mother Earth” so dear, whispered in flames, a call we must hear. Beneath the chaos, her voice rang clear:” In harmony with nature, we must adhere”.”Maayan@Lelo-Lelo For further reading
Some say,
Mother’s love is like no other…
However, if we’ll come closer
You’ll learn
She never wanted
To be a passive smoker
But out of care,
She gladly inhaled and absorbed
All the smoke and toxins in the air
To protect all her children
As a fierce mama bear.
For them, she fell
Into rivers
tainted black,
Fighting through
lethal substances
And pesticides
She almost drowned,
Unable to swim back.
Unseen wounds inflicted,
Deep and sore,
She never signed up
For this painful chore.
But she endured it all,
No questions asked.
Always put herself last.
She selflessly,
As her daily task,
Gave carelessly,
Every bit of her heart.
To all, she always forgave,
The love she freely gave
Overflowed
In a huge wave.
But what have we
Offered in return?
Wars, extinction,
A world that burns.
Unbreakable and
Shattered pieces,
The pain increases.
As she’ll have
To store them forever.
However,
Due to a legacy of neglect,
In which everyone
Only takes and devours,
Suddenly, she is out of power.
Her beauty, they wreck and conceal.
She sadly agrees
As they tell her
Not to make it a big deal…
Her green spaces are erased,
Blinded by their greed,
Her cries go misplaced.
What more does she long for?
She silently weeps.
To recognize her’s mother rights
In the family’s keep.
A moment of respite,
A bit more sleep?
She yearns for serenity,
A tranquil embrace,
Deserving love,
A chance
To reclaim her grace.
Said with tears pouring
Down her face,
Until she flooded all the place.
For she never asked to be a neglected mother,
Bruised and battered in agony, she hovers.
↓
The truth dawns upon us.
As we become aware,
That she’s the mother of us all,
A burden that she bears.
Let’s cherish her,
Protect her
before it’s too late,
For she is the embodiment of our
Shared fate.
Mother’s love is like no other…
In the end, we realize
With rueful mirth,
She’s the heart of our existence,
The giver of birth.
She is the one and only mother-
Mother earth.
